Attorney Thayer’s professional affiliations include membership in the New Jersey State Bar Association ("NJSBA"), the Federal Bar Association ("FBA"), the Middlesex County Bar Association ("MCBA") and the American Bar Association ("ABA"). She is a member in good standing of the New Jersey State Bar, the Supreme Court of New Jersey, the United States Federal District Court of New Jersey, and the Supreme Court of the United States. Attorney Thayer is a member of the NJSBA's Animal Law Committee, which provides a forum reviewing laws, regulations and case law pertaining to all areas of animal law, as well as monitoring and responding to legislation relating to the care and treatment of animals. She is also a member of the ABA's Solo and Small Firm Division and NJSBA's Small Business and Solo Practice Section and Real Property Trust and Estate Law Section.
Attorney Thayer graduated with high honors from the University of New Hampshire, Durham, NH with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Sociology and minoring in Women’s Studies. She was admitted into the following Honor Societies: Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Gamma Mu, Alpha Kappa Delta, as well as having received the Chi Omega Prize for top student in her graduating class. Attorney Thayer achieved her Juris Doctor from the University of New Hampshire School of Law in Concord, NH (formerly, Franklin Pierce Law Center).
During her years in law school, Attorney Thayer worked with New Hampshire State Senator Katherine Wheeler in developing and drafting legislation that created transitional housing for women and children in situations where alcohol and family violence was prevalent. She researched laws and medical opinions pertaining to fetal alcohol syndrome, domestic violence, and the political environment surrounding these issues for potential legislative action.
